David Thomas & Son Excavating & Landscaping, LLC has been serving the greater Ithaca area for over 40 years. What started out as a business that David Thomas created has turned into a full-fledged family owned and operated LLC, including David’s wife Julie and their son Zach (and their dogs as well of course).

We have been working in the greater Ithaca, NY area since we started and we love the opportunity to work with other local businesses. Networking, referring companies that we have worked with in the past including reputable electricians, plumbers, masons and builders is an important benefit we are able to offer. Why do we like to do this? Because when you work with us you become an extension of our family and family helps family.

Some people wonder about our beaver in our logo, an important part of our “Dam Good Work” tagline. That very special beaver is in memory of Julie’s father, Allen Douglas Nice, a local wildlife biologist who came up with the idea of using the beaver. A lot of people knew Allen and we love when people share stories about him and how they knew him. That is the benefit of working and supporting local, you never know what you are going to learn about your town or your family.
